Although I was born in Evanston, Illinois, I spent most of my childhood in Raleigh, North Carolina and it is where I will always call home. From living in Boston, San Diego and San Francisco, there is something incredible about the friends that you know you'll have 4Eva. These are the people you don't just let your guard down for...because there is no guard. They know you, love you and accept you for exactly who you are. In May, I went on a Girls' Vacation where I got to spend four glorious days with my besties (minus one who was busy being pregnant...excuses, excuses, right?). We met in Nashville and took on the town. These girls are family to me...collectively, they are my person. Even though they are across the country from me...even though they have families at home...even though they have a million things happening in their own lives...I can call any one of them at any hour of the day and they will move mountains to be by my side. I am so unbelievably grateful for these ladies, that any time I have the chance to demonstrate a "thank you" in any small way, it is my honor to do so.
On Mother's Day, our family was visiting in Raleigh and I asked the girls if any of them would like to have a mini-mini-mini shoot. I had about 10 minutes with each family and had the chance to photograph them uninterrupted from my own little ones (there is the drawback of having a friend as a photographer...you are usually the last one to get photos taken and it's usually when I'm trying to juggle my own little ones at the same time...not ideal!).
Here are a few of my favorites from our day. Thank you, ladies...you will never, ever know the gratitude I have for the impact you have had on making me who I am today.
