There is something special about sisters. Maybe I am biased because I have a sister who is also my best friend and I dream that every sibling pair would be as fortunate as I was in landing the sister-of-a-lifetime. Lily and Abby are so cute together! Abby (the younger of the pair) of course just stares at Lily in awe and tries to emulate every thing that Lily does. What a treat to document their relationship! A few of my favorites from our session at Sutro Baths in Land's End one foggy day in October!
This family is one of the happiest, most good-natured, easy-going families I have encountered. Jon and Dora and just sweet. Ethan is the center of their world and they think nothing of doing the silliest, goofiest, most awesome "tricks" to get smiles out of this little guy! We headed to Land's End and then to China Beach to enjoy views of the Golden Gate Bridge and get some sand time in with Ethan. This is the third of four shoots I have had the honor of completing for Dora and Jon, including their maternity session and Ethan's newborn session. Here are some highlights from his 8-month session...and I just found out we get to do a 1st Year Canvas after he turns one in November!
To think back to Jackson's newborn shoot, I remember that Mama Gina's sister was in labor at the very same time we were shooting!! Gina was juggling the joy of her own bundle with the beaming pride for her sister, and it was just beautiful for me to watch. Jack turned one in June and we headed to China Beach and Land's End in hopes to get some Golden Gate Bridge shots for his 1-year photo shoot. The Bridge cooperated and I love our session!
Mom brought Jack's lovey with them and I am so glad we were able to capture him with it - such a precious moment in time!
I can't possibly believe that Ella and Olivia are now TWO YEARS OLD! It has been so incredible for me to watch them grow over the last two years, and to watch their loving, incredible fathers grow with them. We headed to China Beach and Land's End to explore with the girls in April...here are some highlights of their sweet personalities:
Danielle and I had our first kiddos around the same time. Cooper is now 3 1/2 and is ready to become a big brother any day now! I am thrilled and honored to be able to capture their First Year for them, starting with a family maternity shoot at Land's End and China Beach! Congratulations, Danielle, Dave + Cooper...I can't wait to meet Baby Girl in a week!
Sadie!! Sweet, sweet Sadie. I have watched her and her parents grow over the last year and it has been a total joy to have them in my life! From their maternity shoot and newborn shoot...to her six-month shoot...to now her one-year celebration...each one has been a pleasure for me to document.
We headed to China Beach and then to Land's End, finishing our year by commemorating Sadie turning one with a cake smash (where her mom actually MADE the cakes...and sent me home with one!). What a FUN morning we had!
I have had the pleasure of documenting Jacob's 1st Year, including maternity, newborn and his 1st birthday! I loved seeing how much he changed from being just a week old to exiting the baby phase and growing into a toddler! His parents are awesome. They are so easy-going and truly a pleasure to photograph. Phoebe is sweet-as-pie and you just want to hug her. Sean is laid back and chivalrous...he even dragged my loud, heavy wagon for me! In a word, I adore them. All three of them!
I knew I clicked with Adina & Brian the moment I saw that Brian was a PRO at laughing at himself (can we talk about his dance moves??)! His official job at the maternity shoot was to make Adina giggle and he did a fabulous job! We went to Land's End to celebrate their last few weeks as a family of two before their baby arrives and they are parents! Here are some favorite photos from our Sutro Baths walk.
I don't know how else to say this other than I feel simply lucky to have had Taryn + Nicole enter my life. They found me on Google of all places (95% of my business is word-of-mouth, so it always surprises me when someone finds me on Google!) and we started with their maternity session at China Beach in the summer...and the rest is history. Upon meeting them in person, I didn't stop laughing or smiling for the next two hours. They are balls of energy and the perfect complement to each other! Their son, Cullen, entered the world in July and I am SO thrilled to be able to document his First Year for them. I know we will blink and I will be posting some favorites of his 6-month shoot before we know it!! Enjoy these from their maternity shoot at China Beach & Land's End, then check out their newborn session at home-sweet-home.
Lauren's parents honored me by allowing me to document their 2nd child's entire first year...from maternity to newborn to 6-months and finally - 1 year! We capped off the celebration with a separate "cake smash session" just for Lauren and she rocked it! At first, she was a bit apprehensive...mostly looking at her mom as if to say, "Are you sure this is all for me??" She then discovered she could use the "1" candle as a spoon (at the end of the day, she is still a lady and did not want to dirty her adorable little fingers with icing!), though her feet were not as lucky! Some favorites from our celebration:
Three boys! Three....boys. And mom is a runner...And dad is a triathlete. Are you exhausted yet??? And the kicker? They make it look easy!!! I left this shoot remembering how easy I have it with just 1 kiddo...WOW! These boys are - not surprisingly - full of amazing energy that goes and goes. They are boys through-and-through, showing me my first banana slug (who knew?), picking out the best tree limbs and exploring the great wide open of Land's End. Thank you, boys, for reminding me to slow down and smell the - er - banana slugs.
Get ready for a major dose of cuteness. Though this was technically Julie's maternity shoot as the family prepares for baby #2 to arrive, we took the opportunity to capture these last moments of the family of three including super-cute Campbell! We headed to Land's End and the Sutro Baths and explored! The great news is I am photographing baby #2's entire first year, so we'll get to shoot his/her newborn photos in a few weeks, then at 6 months, then celebrate the 1st birthday! I love-love-love when I get to follow a family and watch them grow!
And seriously....can we comment on her skinny jeans??? I LOVE this first photo.
Jackson is 9 months old and I first met him at the GGMG Halloween Party in October! Jackson is a smiley, curious, fun-loving baby who is happiest when he can explore, explore, explore! We started at the house and then went to Land's End to take advantage of the beautiful, lush colors there. Dad is a big golfer and we were able to sneak over the golf course for a few shots too - my favorites!
I knew Mama Nadine in my "previous life" (i.e. corporate) and was so happy (and honored!) that she asked me to take her family photos! Her hubby is the shutterbug of their family and, like many families, they found that they always have 3 people in the photos, but not all 4! The kiddos will be two soon and are at such a special, wonderful, curious time of their lives. What better place to explore but Land's End at the Sutro Baths? I was SURE we were going to end up with a broken-something-or-other, but Nadine and Cameron were such laid back, fun-loving parents that the kids were able to climb (supervised of course) and explore all over!
Miss Elle...I photographed her when she was about 3 months old and now she is coming up on a year already! We started at the house to grab a few shots of Elle in her adorable ladybug Halloween costume and then headed to Land's End to capture Elle in this beautiful San Francisco fall.
Angela + Chris are, in a word, adorable. They light up when they are together and, equally important, they crack each other up! I am SO excited about their wedding in June 2011 and we had the opportunity to celebrate a little early with their engagement session! We went to Land's End and walked around the Sutro Baths to find our favorite spots....
Okay, so it's not her debut...she's actually quite experienced, but it's her debut with ME! I had SO MUCH FUN at this shoot!!! Erin was the "perfect" client...she did everything I asked and then some! Erin is one of those people we love to hate, but just can't because she's fabulous...actress, marketing guru, beautiful, funny...you get the picture. I was honored that she asked me to take new headshots for her. Along for the ride, we had the ever-talented Loryn Barbeau as Erin's stylist and Michael Henry of MDMH Photos as my lighting assistant. Thank you, team!
And because this shoot was a little different - here is a glimpse at our "behind-the-scenes"!
